Position: National Program Director (Full Time)
Location: Cedar Grove, New Jersey
Organization Overview:
Since its founding in San Francisco in 2002, Little Kids Rock has grown to become one of the leading, free instrumental music programs in the country. We have brought our rock and roll music program to more than 150,000 underserved kids throughout the nation and are now serving over 74,000 kids simultaneously in 11 states. We provide a modern-band curriculum, teacher training, and instruments to public schools serving high concentrations of low-income kids.

Little Kids Rock inspires children to express themselves through music – building the creativity, confidence, and self-esteem that are critical to success in school and beyond. As the largest music organization of its kind, Little Kids Rock:
· Provides free musical instruments and trained school teachers to children who would not otherwise have access to music education in their school settings.
· Prepares public school teachers from low-income school districts to offer classes utilizing innovative education methods and materials.
· Pioneers innovative teaching methods that are rooted in children’s knowledge of popular music forms such as rock, rap, blues, and hip-hop.
Position Overview:
Little Kids Rock is seeking a dynamic and charismatic National Program Director to help bring a modern-band curriculum, teacher training, and free instruments to public schools across the nation serving high concentrations of low-income kids. The National Program Director will be responsible for planning programmatic activities, creating strategies for organizational growth, maintaining high-level district relationships and creating and managing the programmatic budget.
In addition, the National Program Director will oversee teacher trainings, creation of educational materials, data collection and assessment, teacher evaluation, teacher and community communications and recruitment. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the National Program Director will work collaboratively with staff and school districts to facilitate program improvement, teacher retention, and organizational growth.
Specific Responsibilities::
• Supervise and manage program staff. Provide regular staff coaching and reviews.
• Create and manage budget for programmatic activities including restricted and non-restricted funds.
• Work closely with school districts to foster program growth and improvement
• Develop program for teachers to expand their knowledge and skill levels regarding the pedagogy.
• Expand the Ambassador’s roles and responsibilities.
• Other duties and projects, as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.
Skills:
• Ability to motivate and inspire staff and educators.
• Ability to manage staff projects and balance priorities within shifting deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, self-prioritize, adjust quickly to shifting priorities, meet deadlines, show attention to detail and exercise good judgment.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers, volunteers and the public as an accomplished team player.
• Ability to anticipate problems and take initiative (think outside the box).
• Ability to use excellent verbal and written communications.
Qualifications:
• Understanding of, and passion for, Little Kids Rock’s mission, pedagogy, curricula and programs.
• No less than 5 years teaching experience in a public school setting.
• Minimum 3 years managerial experience.
• Proficiency on one or more of the following instruments: guitar, electric bass, drum kit, keyboard and voice.
• Demonstrated history of strong organizational skills and time management skills.
• Excellent computer skills, including database familiarity.
• Bachelor's degree required, Masters degree preferred.

Position Overview:
The Director serves as a critical member of the senior management team and is inspired by the opportunity to assist philanthropists to achieve maximum impact with their giving. S/he is responsible for planning, implementing and managing all fundraising initiatives for Little Kids Rock. S/he is responsible for identifying and cultivating new prospects, stewarding existing donors and supporting the Executive Director with his portfolio. S/he will concentrate on activities much like a major gift officer soliciting/closing outright gifts of $10,000 or more, with special emphasis on six and seven figure gifts over time. Additionally, the candidate must have the leadership and managerial skills to maximize an array of assets like an enthusiastic and well-connected board of directors, a charismatic founder and executive director who is an award winning social entrepreneur, and an intelligent and eager development team consisting of a development officer, a grants manager, a communications and outreach coordinator, a database coordinator and support staff.
The development department for which this candidate would be leading is responsible for crafting an annual fundraising plan. This includes developing fundraising revenue targets and budgets, developing and managing benchmarks and metrics to ensure budgeted goals are met or exceeded. Expanding prospect management, fundraising and cultivation events, direct mail campaigns, and fundraising through social media.
Requirements:
The qualified candidate will bring with her/him a proven track record of at least 5-7 years of successful experience building relationships with high net worth individuals and implementing a stewardship /cultivation program that sustained relationships and leveraged philanthropic support. S/he must enjoy interacting with investors and must be a self-starter with a strong customer focus. S/he must be highly articulate, adept at planning, prioritizing, providing deliverables, while remaining highly energetic. Requires strong management and coaching skills.
BA/BS min required. MA pref. Full time position, flexible hours. Must have strong computer skills. Knowledge of Salesforce a plus. S/he must be willing and able to travel frequently. Excellent Salary for the right candidate.
