POSITION: Coordinator of Training & Curriculum (Full Time)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Little Kids Rock is seeking a dynamic Coordinator of Training & Curriculum to organize and facilitate cutting edge teacher trainings using LKR pedagogy and curricula. The Coordinator of Training & Curriculum will also maintain an effective process of teacher recruitment and teacher support for our engaging music education programs. Reporting to the Program Director, the Coordinator of Training & Curriculum will work collaboratively with LKR staff and teachers to facilitate program improvement, teacher retention, and the development and evaluation of new educational content.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Train educators throughout the U.S. to use Little Kids Rock pedagogy and curriculum.

Visiting LKR sites locally, & nationally, to monitor & improve program quality.

Coordinate teacher recruitment, applications, training and support processes.

Train, coordinate and manage teacher trainers.

Organize scheduling, activities, materials, resources & supplies for training sessions.

Disseminate and evaluate LKR curricular materials, contributing to their creation and overseeing consultants, as needed.

Other duties and projects as assigned by the Program Director.


SKILLS:

  • Ability to motivate, inspire and train educators.

    Ability to teach guitar, electric bass, drum kit, keyboard and voice to educators.

    Ability to integrate Little Kids Rock curricula into classroom activities.

    Ability to manage & prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, exercise good judgment, show attention to detail, self-prioritize & adjust quickly to shifting priorities.

    Excellent verbal and written communications.

    Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work in leadership and collegial roles with co-workers, volunteers and the public.

    Ability to troubleshoot and take initiative (think outside the box).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of, and passion for, Little Kids Rock’s mission, pedagogy, curricula and programs.

    Proficiency on three of the following instruments: guitar, electric bass, drum kit, keyboard and voice.

    Available to travel around the country to administer and run training sessions. (Position requires 25% out of state travel)

    Demonstrated organizational skills and time management skills

    Excellent computer skills.

    Proficiency with digital recording software (ProTools, GarageBand, Audacity or equivalent).

    No fewer than 5 years teaching experience in a public school setting.

    Bachelor's degree required, Masters degree preferred.
